Free Screening of Miss Representation Documentary

The William O. Douglas chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is partnering with Columbia Basin College’s Diversity Committee to host a free screening of the award-winning documentary Miss Representation at the CBC Gjerde Center in Pasco.

The documentary explores how women and girls are portrayed in the media and how those portrayals affect the lives of females. The film features interviews with teens and professionals including journalists, entertainers and politicians. Some of the women interviewed include: Nancy Pelosi, Condoleezza Rice, Katie Couric and Lisa Ling.

Our hope in viewing this documentary is that it will start a conversation in our community and among media members on how media portrays women and how we can do better.
Three free screenings will be offered on Thursday, March 20.

March 20 Screenings:
9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.; 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
